Detective Butch Dasco cannot believe his eyes as he watches the tapes of the confident woman standing nose to nose with crime boss Vito Tucci.  Sophia Paulo looks just like his dead wife!  Dasco’s wife and father were both murdered eight years ago and being part of “The Circle,” Tucci got away with it.  Dasco is having a hard enough time dealing with her murder and seeing her twin just about kills him.  Sophia witnessed the brutal murder of her uncle, who was Tucci’s accountant.  She presented the pictures and documents to prove the crime boss’s guilt to the NYPD and suddenly disappears.  Dasco is given the assignment to find her and get her out of town before Tucci finds her.

Dasco has no trouble finding Sophia, but in the process of explaining to her who he is, they are attacked and almost killed by some of Tucci’s goons, one who happens to be one of his co-workers.  He realizes that he has been set up and must get the evidence and Sophia to his Uncle Milo, an agent with the FBI in DC as soon as possible.

Sophia is shocked to learn that Dasco’s wife looked just like her, but that does not stop the instant attraction she has for him.  Regardless the attraction, she realizes that he is her only hope in this deadly situation.  They put their minds together with plans to get to DC, but it seems like the goons are always one step ahead of them.

Even though they have only known each other a short time, their emotions explode and they finally give into the heated passions that are burning between them.  Will Dasco be able to give up the ghost of his dead wife to have any lasting relationship with Sophia?  How will she react when she realizes that she is Maria’s twin?

This was a fast paced action-suspense novel that had me at the edge of my seat! I found myself wrapped up in the story and the characters, loving every page of it. The author is indeed talented in her craft and I look forward to her next book!

Sophia Paulo is 29 and a cosmetologist for a T.V. show. She's six-foot-one with golden hazel eyes and black hair cut in a layered look popular with the male/female fashion.

Vito Tucci is a drug lord who is part of The Circle. He wants to someday be the Don. He also wants Sophia for himself and Dasco dead.

Unto Death We Do Part

What would you do if the woman you were going to protect was the spitting image of your dead wife? This is the dilemma that Detective Butch Dasco faces. Not only is he drawn to Sophia Paulo, but he will do anything he can to protect her.

Sophia sees her uncle get killed by Vito Tucci and is on the run for her life. How far and fast can she run? Luckily, she's got the experience to change her appearance since she is a cosmetologist who is excellent as a quick change artist.

Butch is the sworn enemy of Vito Tucci, who just happens to be the local gangster. Vito wants Butch dead or framed at all costs. Butch is given all the evidence of the murder, including the tape of her uncle’s death that Sophia turned over to the police.

But someone is on the take in the police department; will Sophia end up as Vito's play toy or will she and Butch end up getting killed?

Unto Death We Do Part is a great suspense-filled book that kept me on my toes from beginning to end. Not only was it so well written that you felt as if you were in the room with the characters, but you were also able to relate and worry about their fate. Intrigue and danger lurking around every corner will keep you immersed as you wait on pins and needles to find out what happens next.

While Twyla Dawn McKnight may be a new author, I am sure we will be hearing more about her as I was titillated with this tale of suspense. This one was so expertly crafted that I wanted to grab another of her books to read right away. The life and death situations are so real; it is almost like you are watching a movie. I, for one, am very happy to have had the chance to read such a great book full of emotions; it all worked together to suck you right into the story. Unto Death We Do Part has whetted my appetite for more of Twyla Dawn McKnight’s books.
